What’s been happening:

After graduation in 1958, I was almost immediately drafted and served 2 years in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge from the Army in 1960, I began a 36 year career with the Social Security Administration, serving in various increasingly responsible technical, administrative and professional positions including, among others, the agency's first Director of the Executive Secretariat, Director of the Office of Regulations, Privacy Act Officer, Senior Advisor for Policy to the Deputy Commissioner, and Director of the Freedom of Information Office. After retiring from the Federal Government I began working for my local library and am the Acquisitions Supervisor for the Howard County Library. My wife, Liz, and I lived on a horse farm for the first couple of years of our marriage, breeding, raising and racing thoroughbred horses. We have lived in Columbia, MD for the past 33 years. We have 2 children, neither of whom could I convince to go to PSU. Our son, David is in the music industry in NY, and daughter Jessica lives with her husband in North Carolina and is the Vice President for Marketing and Public Affairs for a medical non-profit. Last year Liz and I came up to the campus for my 50th Reunion (and induction into the Pioneers) and had a wonderful time renewing some old acquaintances and visiting those parts of the campus and town that held special memories for me.
